Your baby at 2 weeks

Still no baby in week 2. Toward the end of this week you ovulate: a mature egg is released and lives for about 12 to 24 hours. Sperm can survive up to five days, so sex in the days before ovulation counts.

Your body at 2 weeks

Rising estrogen thickens your uterine lining. Around ovulation you may notice clear, stretchy cervical mucus, a slight rise in basal body temperature afterward, or mild one-sided pain (mittelschmerz).

Common symptoms at 2 weeks pregnant

  • Egg-white cervical mucus
  • Mild one-sided pelvic twinges
  • Higher libido

Every pregnancy is different. Having none of these symptoms is normal too.

Tips for week 2

  • Track ovulation with mucus changes, temperature or ovulation test strips.
  • Have sex every one to two days in your fertile window.
  • Keep taking folic acid every day.

Your week 2 checklist

  • Track your fertile window
  • Keep taking folic acid
  • Review medicines with your doctor
